Job Description
Special Needs Youth Worker
Location: Witney
Pay: £90 - £110 p/day
Start date: 02/09/2025
We are looking for individuals to fill a demanding role supporting pupils aged 8-18 with complex needs including challenging behaviours, Asperger's, ASD, and ADHD. The environment can be intense and emotionally draining.
This is a temporary-to-permanent position, so please only apply if you're prepared to commit long-term. The school is a large SEND provision in Witney, and they need two more people to join their team and help educate the next generation of students.
Full-time only: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday.
Part-time or flexible working is not an option.
The candidate needs to...
* Be able to provide us with references from an educational background
* Have experience with children or young adults (essential)
* Be able to work with and support SEND pupils
* Have a professional manner in and outside of the school
* Be friendly and resilient as behaviours can be challenging and tiresome for staff
* Have a desire to support children
* Have excellent behaviour management skills, or be willing to learn
* Support on a 1:1 basis when needed
* Build great relationships with staff and pupils
* Be able to work on site and off site, managing behaviours in both areas
* Be flexible in the workplace
