Are you a qualified teacher or experienced tutor passionate about delivering personalised learning? Would you thrive in a role where you can work one-on-one with students, helping them overcome barriers and reach their full potential?
We are working with multiple schools, alternative provisions, and local authorities across Northampton who are seeking full-time 1:1 Tutors to support students outside of the traditional classroom. These roles focus on helping pupils who require additional academic and emotional support-often those not currently in mainstream education.
About the Role:
Delivering 1:1 tuition in core subjects such as English, Maths, Science, or Functional Skills
Working with students across Key Stages 2-4 (occasionally KS5), including those with SEN, SEMH, or those who are school-refusers or transitioning between placements
Planning and delivering personalised lessons tailored to individual learning needs and targets
Building consistent, positive relationships that promote trust, engagement, and academic progress
Monitoring student progress and reporting regularly to education coordinators or referring schools
Supporting students in a variety of settings including schools, tuition centres, or approved community spaces
We're Looking For:
Qualified Teachers (QTS/QTLS) or experienced tutors with a proven track record of working 1:1
Excellent subject knowledge in English, Maths, or Science
Strong behaviour management skills and experience working with disengaged or vulnerable learners
A flexible, calm, and empathetic approach to teaching
Up-to-date understanding of safeguarding responsibilities (enhanced DBS required or willingness to obtain)
Experience with EHCPs, alternative provision, or looked-after children is highly desirable
