Transport Coordinator required in Thame. Starting annual salary is £27-31,500 pending experience. Working hours are 8:00am-5:00pm Monday to Thursday and 8:00am-4:45pm Friday.

Our client, one of the UK's most modern and professional vehicle salvage agents/parts recyclers based in Thame, Oxfordshire, is looking to hire a Transport Coordinator to join their team.
Reporting to the Centre Manager and working as part of a friendly team, you will be part of a logistics support team responsible for organising drivers' movements relating to vehicle collections and deliveries. This is a hands-on role focused on delivering efficient and cost-effective transport solutions for a modern fleet of 20-strong recovery transporters, whilst ensuring legal compliance and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
* Organise driver/vehicle run schedules for the collection and/or delivery of vehicles, ensuring optimum cost-effectiveness through the utilisation of full load capacity and compatible geographic locations.
* Plan run schedules for each driver in full consideration of EU driving regulations in respect of breaks, driving limits, and rest periods.
* Incorporate vehicle returns, deliveries, and site transfers into the run schedules.
* Manage 'failed collection' reports and continuously identify potential operational improvements.
* Manage the drivers' resource levels to meet business needs.
* Ensure all contractual service obligations are met.
* Contribute to the management of the team inbox and all communication portals.
* Complete all reasonable tasks requested by colleagues efficiently & effectively.
Requirements:
To be eligible for this position, previous experience in a similar transport planning/logistics-oriented role would be required, with a sound knowledge of the UK road networks/geographical areas. Overall, you will have experience of working in a busy and fast-moving office environment, strong IT skills, the ability to effectively prioritise workload, work under your own initiative and as part of a team, have good organisational skills, and be a motivated mentality with a positive 'can-do' attitude. You will also be able to pass a satisfactory DBS, Finance, Right to Work, and reference checks.
