Key Accountabilities
7. Install, test, analyse, troubleshoot and modify new network equipment and solutions to achieve maximum performance and availability
8. Provide technical knowledge to the development and deployment of service infrastructure, driving improved technical and service performance
9. Drive the design and build activity, engaging with internal and external contributors to ensure the solution meets requirements
10. Design and drive processes to facilitate smooth and seamless deployment of new services, including documenting engineering build procedures and contribute to the continuous improvement of policies, processes and procedures
11. Supervise the delivery of 3rd party suppliers and contractors to ensure that delivery specifications and standards meet Arqiva requirements.
12. Standardise equipment and configuration to minimise disruption and achieve straightforward integration with existing networks/infrastructure,
13. Provide technical leadership within the team, sharing knowledge and skills and providing mentoring support to engineers and technicians
14. Adopt the role of Design Authority (DA) in area of expertise to ensure the delivery of the end-to-end network design for complex projects
15. Drive innovation, both small and large, into and through the business; deploy and evidence with outcomes, a continuous improvement (CI) mind-set
Qualifications:
16. Either (A Higher Education or professional qualification in a relevant discipline) or relevant experience CCDP or equivalent certification
Required Expertise:
17. Significant experience of designing, building, development testing and implementing complex IP network equipment and systems.
18. Experience of technical processes, standards and engineering practices related to area of expertise.
Required Technical / Professional Skillset(s):
19. Strong knowledge of technologies involved in IP Networking
20. Thorough understanding of networking routing and switching protocols to include but not limited to, BGP, BFD and SNMPv
Beneficial experience:
21. Knowledge of IP multicast protocol IGMPv3
22. Coding in Python (classes, functions, data types, control flow), including use of standard libraries such as regular expressions (to parse output from devices into useful data) and file reading/writing (CSV/JSON) (for feeding input data and then creating output reports).
