Overview
Osterna, part of RMG and Places for People Group, seeks an experienced Residential Fire Risk Assessor to join a proactive Health & Safety team covering South London and surrounding areas. You will work from home when not conducting site visits and typically undertake up to 10 site visits a week (Mon‑Fri). The role focuses on risk assessment reports for common internal and external areas of residential developments.
Responsibilities
Specialising in residential housing, you will inspect a range of property types – traditional residential blocks, sheltered housing, HMO, and high‑rise housing (over 18 m). You will write detailed risk assessment reports that inform Property Managers and Directors of needed repairs or other actions to maintain safe common areas.
Additionally, you will collaborate with Property Managers and Directors to initiate repairs or other procedures based on assessment findings, and you may conduct compartmentation surveys as required.
Qualifications
* A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.
* Experience undertaking fire risk assessment work within the residential property sector on high‑rise buildings.
* NEBOSH National Certificate in Fire Safety and Level 3 NEBOSH National General Certificate.
* Experience with Fire Risk Assessments (HSFRA) and compartmentation surveys.
* Strong attention to detail in reports and comprehensive knowledge of current Health and Safety legislation.
* Knowledge of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and local government guidance.
* Experience with LaCORS or willingness to receive training (optional).
Compensation: Greater London – up to £52,200 dependent on experience, plus £4,320 cash car allowance and up to 10 % performance‑related bonus.
