Senior Quantity Surveyor – Nuclear / RC Concrete / Civils

We’re recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a team delivering works on a major nuclear project, with a strong focus on reinforced concrete (RC) structures. This is a technically complex role within a highly regulated environment, where strong commercial control and attention to detail are essential.
This position is primarily office-based near Slough, with regular visits to project sites as required.
The Role
You’ll take commercial responsibility for key elements of the project, ensuring robust cost control, contractual compliance and proactive risk management throughout delivery.
Key responsibilities include:

Commercial management of RC concrete and structural packages
*
Subcontractor procurement, negotiation and appointment
*
Managing subcontract accounts from placement through to final account
*
Cost reporting, forecasting and CVR processes
*
Managing variations, compensation events and change control
*
Working closely with engineering and delivery teams to identify and manage commercial risks
*
Supporting client-facing commercial reporting and meetings
*
Ensuring compliance with strict nuclear and project-specific procedures
About You
*
Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor on major civil engineering or infrastructure projects
*
Strong technical understanding of reinforced concrete works
*
Experience in highly regulated sectors (nuclear, rail, defence, utilities, major infrastructure, etc.)
*
Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts (essential)
*
Experience managing large-value subcontract packages
*
Highly organised with strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
*
Comfortable working between office and live project environments
Previous nuclear experience is highly desirable, but candidates from other major infrastructure backgrounds with the right standards and mindset will be considered.
