Position Overview
We are looking for a dynamic and strategic Chief of Staff to support the Vice President of Growth and Partner Marketing (GPM) at Autodesk and the GPM team. This role is crucial in driving the success of the GPM team by providing operational, strategic, and administrative support. You will act as an important partner and trusted advisor, helping to build our team’s goals and deliver key projects.
This position reports to the Vice President of GPM who is based in Germany. It can be 100% remote, located in the U.S., Canada, or the U.K. If based in the U.S. or Canada, there is a preference for the Eastern Time zone. Candidates should be comfortable working with a globally distributed team.
Responsibilities
Strategic Planning
* Collaborate with the Vice President, GPM to plan and facilitate executive meetings and workshops, including agenda development, discussion guidance, note consolidation, and action item follow‑up.
* Design and guide outcome‑oriented strategy meetings and workshops, such as team building sessions, organizational reviews, and strategy discussions.
* Assist in setting priorities and defining the team’s yearly goals, objectives and key results (OKRs) to measure GPM effectiveness, tracking and reporting quarterly.
* Help lead the annual budget and planning process for GPM, ensuring alignment to overall Marketing objectives and strategy.
Project Management
* Lead and manage cross‑functional GPM projects/programs from conception to completion, including strategic programs with company‑wide impact.
* Coordinate with internal teams – marketing, engineering, product management, HR, and Finance – to ensure timely and successful execution of GPM initiatives.
Team Support
* Support the development of content for the VP of GPM, including briefing materials, presentations, and reports for internal and external meetings.
* Manage communications, both within the GPM team and across the broader Autodesk organization.
* Provide high‑level administrative support, including budget management and vendor invoicing.
Stakeholder Engagement
* Identify and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior executives and cross‑functional team members.
* Serve as a liaison between the Vice President, GPM, and stakeholders to facilitate communication and collaboration.
Operational Excellence
* Drive operational efficiency and effectiveness within the GPM team.
* Streamline processes, implement best practices, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Team Leadership
* Act as a trusted advisor to the executive and senior leaders, providing insight and analysis on operations and key decisions.
* Design and guide strategic meetings and workshops, including team building and organizational reviews.
* Frame problems and develop structured solutions to aid decision‑making.
* Promote team effectiveness and related programs, such as product development workflows and strategic planning.
* Champion collaboration and open communication across teams, working with other Chiefs of Staff across the company and sharing best practices.
* Develop and support presentation content for the VP, including executive meeting materials.
* Help with team culture and morale initiatives in partnership with the people team.
Minimum Qualifications
* 8+ years of leading large programs across teams or organizations.
* Prior experience in a large global environment, preferably in the tech industry.
* Bachelor’s degree preferred in communications, marketing, business administration, or a related field.
* Strong strategic thinking, translating business objectives into actionable strategies.
* Exceptional communication skills, crafting compelling messages for diverse audiences.
* Self‑starter with a team‑oriented work style and the ability to build credibility quickly across functions and levels.
* Ability to handle business‑sensitive information.
* Strong interpersonal skills, building relationships and guiding stakeholders at all levels.
Salary Transparency
For U.S.‑based roles, the starting base salary is expected to be between $139,400 and $225,500. Offers are based on experience and geographic location and may exceed this range. Compensation may also include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
