Join to apply for the Senior Occupational Therapist role at University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust
An exciting opportunity has arisen for you to join our Trauma and Orthopaedic Therapy Team as a Senior Occupational Therapist.
This post is based at the Poole site, which is the main Orthopaedic Trauma site for University Hospitals Dorset. You will work in a fast-paced environment within a well-established Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy service, supported by a Band 7 Clinical Specialist OT. Regular supervision, training, and opportunities to develop managerial skills are provided.
This role offers chances to develop specialised skills including high-level assessments, moving and handling, cognitive assessments, capacity assessments, admission avoidance, and complex discharge planning.
You will manage a caseload of patients with diverse injuries and complexities, support less experienced team members, and contribute to service development. The role involves working with patients in hospital and at home to ensure they receive appropriate care.
Our values define #TeamUHD, guiding how we treat everyone. The Trust is investing in service development, with some services moving sites due to the New Hospital Programme. The planned move from Poole Hospital to Royal Bournemouth Hospital is scheduled for Spring 2026. Employees will not be eligible for mileage reimbursement for travel related to this move.
