Position Overview
Are you a motivated and passionate individual looking to make a difference? We are recruiting two new Placement Assistant posts to support children and young people in Darlington. Reporting to the Placement Officer, you will handle referrals for external placements and support service arrangements aligned with the child’s Education Health Care Plan (EHCP) or social care needs.
External Placement Arrangements Include:
* Ofsted registered external foster care
* Residential care and supported accommodation placements
* Regulated community care and support services
* Independent special school placements
About You
Applicants should have GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent), hold an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience, and have approximately 3 years’ experience with policies and procedures. An understanding of Children, Adults, Education, or Health services is essential.

* Ability to develop strong relationships with colleagues in social care and SEND
* Flexible approach and emotional resilience in a fast-changing environment
* Proficiency in administrative and management information systems, databases, and spreadsheets
* Awareness of national children’s social care and SEND priorities
