Fire Minor Works & Servicing Engineer
Location: Stevenage Salary: From £38,000+ depending on experience
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 17:00 (30-minute unpaid lunch)
An established and growing fire and security specialist is seeking an experienced Fire Minor Works & Servicing Engineer to join their technical team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer looking to progress their career within a reputable business operating across multiple counties.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in fire alarm servicing, fault finding, and minor works installations, with a minimum of five years’ relevant experience. Fire alarm systems are the core focus of the business, so previous hands-on knowledge in this area is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Service, maintain and repair fire alarm systems at customer sites
Carry out fault finding and corrective maintenance works
Complete minor installation projects and upgrades
Work on associated systems including:
Emergency lighting
Voice alarm / PA systems
Nurse call / warden call systems
Fire extinguishers
Induction loops
Smoke detection systems
Ensure all documentation is completed accurately in line with British Standards and compliance requirements
Deliver a high level of customer service whilst on site Systems Experience Preferred Candidates should have experience or familiarity with some of the following manufacturers:

Vesda Areas Covered The business works across:
Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, London, Middlesex, Norfolk, Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire and Suffolk.
Preferred candidate locations include:
Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Northamptonshire and North London.
Overtime & Call Out Additional earnings available through overtime and standby rota.
Monday to Friday overtime paid at enhanced rates
Weekend and Sunday overtime available
Paid travel time outside standard working hours
On-call rota currently 1 week in 6
£150 standby payment per week plus premium call out rates

Ideal Candidate
Minimum 5 years’ fire alarm engineering experience
Strong servicing and fault-finding ability
Full UK driving licence
Professional and customer-focused approach
Able to work independently and manage workload effectively
