Job Description
A leading UK ecommerce business is seeking a Sustainability Manager to be based in their Leeds office, working on a hybrid basis.
Reporting into the Chief People Officer, you will be responsible for continuing the development and delivery of their sustainability strategy, sustainability reporting, emissions measurement, sustainability policies and net zero planning.
You will join a business turning over c.£600m p/a, that is rapidly growing, but is still at the early stages of their sustainability journey. They are a purpose lead business that focuses on healthcare and has a leadership team that is committed to a sustainable future.
You will be their first full time sustainability hire and so a broad range of skills, plus the willingness to continue your personal development is essential.
Duties include:
* You will work with the leadership team to evolve their sustainability strategy, decarbonisation and net zero planning.
* Manage and implement the ESG strategy, policies and embed a sustainability focused culture..
* Identify and implement sustainability best practice, e.g. net zero, circular economy, packaging, environment management etc…
* Data management, collection and reporting across all ESG metrics, with a focus on continued improvements.
* Performance reporting and ESG target setting, including Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions reporting.
* Maximise energy efficiency, resource use, waste reduction, recycling, transportation and supply chain emissions.
* Attend sustainability governance committees and ESG sponsor meetings.
* Support social impact and value initiatives.
Candidates MUST have:
* Good experience in a similar role, across a broad range of areas, from planning and strategy to emissions measurements, policy creation and reporting.
* Good experience calculating scopes 1 and 2, any scope 3 would be useful, but is not essential.
* Ability to work across departments to work on sustainability communications and influence key stakeholders.
Desirable are:
* Experience of logistics, retail, supply chain, ecommerce or healthcare sectors.
* ISO standards experience.
The successful candidate will join an extremely exciting, impactful business that has significant investment and is experiencing rapid growth. You will receive a salary of £35,000 - £45,000 based on experience and good benefits.
