Salary: Grade 5 ( £43,986 - £48,113)
35 hours per week
Grade 5

About The Role

The Compliance Officer (Fire Safety) has a vital role in ensuring the safety of residents and is responsible for leading and coordinating all fire safety activities across RCH's housing stock and communal assets.

Working under the direction of the Compliance Team Leader, the post holder will act as RCH's operational lead for fire safety and ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory and best-practice requirements and ensure adherence to British Standard for Fire Risk Assessments in Housing (BS 9792:2025). The postholder will manage day-to-day fire safety compliance activities including fire risk assessments, investment programmes, inspections, remedial actions, contractor performance and accurate compliance data management. The role plays a key part in protecting resident safety and supporting regulatory assurance.

Key Responsibilities Include

Fire Safety Compliance

Manage fire risk assessments, inspections and servicing programmes.
Track and coordinate remedial actions and escalate risks where required.
Align activities to British Standard for Fire Risk Assessments in Housing (BS 9792:2025).

Contractor & Performance Management

Act as key client contact for all fire safety contracts and advisors and monitor KPI performance through proactive contract management
Lead on regular contract management meetings ensuring actions are tracked and responsibilities clear.
Validate certification, reports and invoices.

Data, Systems & Reporting

Oversee and maintain accurate compliance records on Active H.
Produce reports and support audits and regulatory returns.
Provide accurate KPI performance reporting across the RCG Group

Customer & Stakeholder Engagement

Communicate with residents regarding inspections and works.
Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners.

Health, Safety & Compliance

Ensure compliance with fire safety legislation and RCH policies.
Follow health & safety and lone working procedures at all times.

About You

To be successful in this role you should be able to demonstrate the following knowledge and skills:

Experience in housing compliance or building safety
Knowledge of residential fire safety compliance
Experience in managing contractors and compliance data
Strong IT skills and excellent attention to detail
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
