Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our dynamic Major Projects and Infrastructure Team at Hull City Council at a senior strategic level.
We are seeking candidates with a bridge engineering and contract management background paired with strong leadership skills to deliver and maintain the bridges capital programme.
The Bridges Asset Manager will represent the team in both internal and external meetings to ensure the safe maintenance of the highway network in Hull with an approved £42m budget for the next 5 years.
The role will also involve managing the bridges team responsible for over 200 structures, fountains, and statues, ensuring Hull’s network is safe and fit for purpose.
The successful candidate will work closely with bridge engineers, the Head of Place and Highways Infrastructure, the Assistant Director of Major Projects and Infrastructure, and other professional staff across the Council to deliver a coherent and affordable rolling bridges capital programme that facilitates asset improvement and supports city-wide regeneration plans. They will also engage with stakeholders, including residents, businesses, and Portfolio Holders.
Hull City Council offers various benefits, including policies to support work-life balance, excellent learning and development opportunities, a defined benefit pension scheme, and employee discounts via the Hull Plus website.
If you’re excited about playing a central role in Hull's bridge maintenance and share our aspiration for inclusive economic growth, we would like to hear from you.
Interviews are scheduled for the week commencing 1st September 2025.
For an informal discussion about the role, please contact Jason Randle, Head of Place & Highways Infrastructure, at 01482 612 556 or [emailprotected].
Please ensure your application demonstrates how you meet the essential criteria listed in the job description.
