Description Closing Date: 13th April 2026 Contract Type: Supply Salary: £16.49 per Hour Hours: 0 hours per week Appropriate Adults provide communication support to vulnerable victims, witnesses, suspects and accused persons, aged 16 and over, during police investigations. Stirling Council are recruiting an additional Appropriate Adult to join the team to help deliver this service across Forth Valley: Falkirk, Clackmannanshire and Stirling. Applicants with the following experience are welcome to apply: • Experience - in a professional, voluntary or personal capacity - of working with Adults who have: a mental illness, learning disability, dementia, Autism/ADHD and/or acquired brain injuries or related conditions. • Experience of assisting vulnerable adults with communication support. Requirements : This role requires travel across the full Forth Valley area (Falkirk, Stirling and Clackmannanshire), often at short notice, including day shifts, evenings, nights and weekends. On occasion, travel out with Forth Valley may also be required to support Police Scotland. You must be able and willing to travel independently at any time of day or night and have access to your own vehicle for work purposes. The Appropriate Adult Service provides 24/7 cover; therefore, the ideal candidate should be flexible with their availability. The successful candidate must be available to cover a Thursday day shift, which is 9am-5:30pm and a Monday evening shift (5:30pm-9:00am). Please note, Appropriate Adults are used as and when required by the police. There are no guaranteed hours with this position; therefore, it is a zero-hour contract. What we offer Hourly attendance rate of £16.49 per hour. Enhanced pay is provided for work undertaken during unsocial hours and public holidays, including time and a third for evening and overnight work, and time and a half for public holidays.
