The Role As a CNC Miller, you will be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines, working on a range of precision components from drawings and CAD data.
You will be working predominantly on 3-axis to 5-axis CNC milling machines with Heidenhain controls, producing low to medium batch work typical of a sub-contract machining environment.
This is a hands-on role within a small team, where individuals take ownership of their work and contribute to maintaining high standards of machining and quality.
Key Responsibilities Programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines (35 axis) Working with Heidenhain controls Producing precision machined components to tight tolerances Reading and interpreting engineering drawings Selecting tooling, offsets and machining strategies Conducting in-process inspection and quality checks Supporting continuous improvement and maintaining high machining standards Experience Required Proven experience as a CNC Miller (Programmer / Setter xsngvjr / Operator) Strong experience with Heidenhain control systems Experience machining complex components in a sub-contract precision environment Ability to work from engineering drawings independently Strong understanding of tooling, feeds, speeds and machining strategies Desirable (not essential): CAD/CAM programming experience (ideally Mastercam) Working Hours This role offers a flexible 4-day working week: Monday Thursday Typical working window: 6:30am 5:30pm (flexible within this period) This structure offers an excellent work-life balance with every Friday off.
