To be successful as a Solution Architect, you should have experience with:
* Architecting modern distributed systems
* Stakeholder management, with strong influencing skills, solving complex problems, and making architectural trade-offs
* Creating transitional architectures leveraging heritage systems
Additional valued skills include:
* Functional/domain experience in financial services such as Banking, Cards, or Loans
* Hands-on experience in architecting systems within public cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP)
* Managing technical product selection, scope, and executing Tech spikes/PoCs
This role is based in our Knutsford or Northampton office.
Purpose of the role
Design, develop, and implement solutions to complex business problems, collaborating with stakeholders to understand needs and designing solutions that balance technology risks with business delivery, promoting consistency.
Accountabilities
* Designing and developing solutions as adaptable products, aligning with modern software engineering and automated delivery practices, including technology and platform selection
* Applying workload placement strategies to maximize cloud benefits like elasticity, serverless, and containerization
* Incorporating security principles (defense in depth, reduction of blast radius) into designs to meet resiliency standards
* Balancing risks and controls to deliver business and technology value
* Promoting standard solutions and contributing to their evolution when necessary
* Supporting operational teams with fault finding and performance issues, utilizing available tooling
* Assessing design impact on risk, capacity, and costs, including ongoing operational expenses
* Creating architecture documentation to comply with governance, privacy, security, and records management policies
