Payroll, Benefits & HR Associate
to manage day-to-day payroll, benefits administration, and provide foundational HR support. This role offers flexibility for candidates seeking either a part-time or full-time schedule, with hybrid in-office expectations in the Boston area. It’s an ideal fit for someone who enjoys taking full ownership of payroll and benefits processes while also supporting a people-first culture. You’ll collaborate closely with our finance and leadership teams, oversee compliance and operational accuracy, and help implement scalable systems as we continue to grow. Key Responsibilities Manage end-to-end, bi-weekly multi-state payroll processing (via ADP) Administer employee benefits, including ACA-compliant health plans and 401(k) (via outsourced partner and ADP) Serve as the go-to resource for employee questions related to payroll, benefits, and HR policies Oversee onboarding and offboarding logistics with a payroll/benefits lens Maintain accurate employee records; support selection and implementation of an HRIS (e.g., GoCo) Ensure compliance with employment laws and payroll tax regulations across states Collaborate with the CFO, senior accountant, and broader back-office team (tools: ADP, Deltek) Support light HR reporting and internal audits as needed Contribute to hiring and developing efficient HR/payroll processes for future scalability Qualifications 5+ years of experience in payroll, benefits administration, or generalist HR roles (multi-state experience strongly preferred) Deep knowledge of ADP payroll systems and 401(k)/benefits management Understanding of payroll tax laws and regulatory compliance Experience supporting a blend of full-time, part-time, and remote employees Approachable, discreet, and comfortable serving as a trusted internal resource Self-starter with strong attention to detail and ability to work independently Familiarity with ACA-compliant benefits platforms and small company HR environments a plus Comfort with a flexible, hybrid schedule (Boston-area presence required 2x/week) What We Offer Flexible part-time or full-time schedule, ideal for working parents or professionals seeking work-life balance Opportunity to lead a critical function while shaping scalable systems and practices Collaborative, mission-driven team culture Pro-rated benefits package for part-time; full benefits for full-time employees (health, dental, vision, 401(k)) To Apply: If you're a proactive payroll and benefits professional looking for a meaningful, flexible role, we’d love to hear from you.
