Your purpose will be:
To deliver exceptional, professional massage therapy and advanced face and body treatments in line with Fairmont’s world‑class spa standards. The Spa Therapist creates a serene, luxurious, and personalised wellness experience for every guest, ensuring uncompromised attention to service, safety, and wellbeing while remaining current with industry trends and techniques.
Job Description
1. Perform professional massage therapies and body treatments, ensuring guest comfort, safety, and relaxation whilst adhering to Fairmont Spa protocols
2. Develop and maintain expertise in various massage techniques, including Swedish, deep tissue, hot stone, and aromatherapy
3. Conduct thorough consultations with guests to understand their needs and tailor treatments accordingly
4. Maintain immaculate cleanliness and proper stocking of treatment rooms, preparing for appointments as required
5. Provide exceptional customer service, including answering queries about spa facilities and services, and promoting spa offerings and retail products
6. Stay current with industry trends, maintain valid professional licences, and participate in ongoing training to enhance service quality
7. Support overall spa operations, including reception, retail, and marketing activities when needed, and collaborate effectively with other departments
8. Adhere to all health and safety procedures, including emergency protocols and safe working practices
9. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives through active participation in departmental meetings and cross-training programmes
10. Maintain accurate and detailed client records, including treatment notes and product recommendations
11. Participate in regular team meetings and contribute ideas for improving spa services and guest experiences
12. Assist in the development and implementation of new spa treatments and packages
Please note that we believe in flexibility and multi-skilling, and you may be asked to do different tasks from time to time to enable us to meet the needs of our guests and colleagues.
Qualifications
13. NVQ Level 3 in Beauty Therapy or equivalent (CIDESCO, CIBTAC, ITEC highly desirable)
14. Minimum 1 year of experience in a luxury spa, wellness centre, or 5‑star hospitality environment
15. Strong proficiency in massage therapy including Swedish, deep tissue, and relaxation techniques
16. Experience delivering advanced face and body treatments in line with professional training
17. Excellent communication and guest‑care skills suited to a luxury wellness environment
18. High standard of personal presentation consistent with Fairmont brand expectations
19. Strong understanding of hygiene, safety, and compliance standards including COSHH and treatment‑room protocols
20. Ability to work flexibly including weekends, evenings, and peak seasonal periods
21. Confidence with retail recommendations and product knowledge to enhance the guest experience
22. Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with industry trends
