Join to apply for the Fostering Registered Area Manager role at TACT (formerly MKDS Training). The role is based Homebased with reasonable travelling to Bristol, Bath, Swindon, Somerset, Devon and Gloucester. The Fostering Registered Area Manager will lead a dedicated team of home based staff focused on recruiting and retaining suitable carers for vulnerable children and young people across the region.
Salary & Benefits
Salary: £54,702 per annum (increasing to £60,780 after 18 months service) plus £1,500 per annum Out of Hours Rota Allowance and £750 per annum Homeworking Allowance.
Contract: Permanent, Full time – 35 hours per week.

Responsibilities
Lead a dedicated team of remote or home‑based staff focussed on recruitment and retention of suitable carers, ensuring the delivery of an outstanding service across a diverse and complex range of children and young people. Report directly to the Operational Director of Children’s Services. Participate in carer‑focussed events, staff and panel training, monthly staff team meetings, wellbeing days and other face‑to‑face events across the South West. Provide essential leadership in safeguarding, operational planning, budgeting, vendor management and compliance. Take part in the out‑of‑hours rota.
Qualifications & Experience
* A Level 5 Management Qualification (or willingness to enrol within 6 months of appointment and complete within 3 years)
* 3–5 years post‑qualifying social work experience in fostering or other childcare settings
* Proven track record working on behalf of children, promoting their positive development
* Experience managing a diverse and experienced team, ideally remotely
* Experience delivering group work and/or training
* Up‑to‑date knowledge of relevant legislation including Fostering National Minimum Standards and Fostering regulations
* Excellent organisational and communication skills, self‑organisation, planning and efficiency
* Proficiency in IT and paperless systems, including virtual meetings and webinars
* Regulatory compliance experience including service monitoring
* Safeguarding responsibilities for children and young people
* Experience in managing budgets and service provider contracts
* Panel Advisor experience
