Priory Hospital Suttons Manor is looking to recruit a Occupational Therapy Assistant to join the team. This is a full time/37.5 Hour role.

Priory Hospital Suttons Manor is set in Stapleford Tawney, a village and civil parish in the Epping Forest district, near the town of Romford. The hospital is set in its own attractive grounds of over nine acres, which supports an amazing horticulture programme and grants access to an idyllic countryside landscape, which, by its very nature, promotes wellbeing.


What you'll be doing


You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients

* Assist patients in developing or regaining skills necessary for daily living and working.
* Implement treatment plans designed by Occupational Therapists, monitoring patient progress and providing feedback.
* Support patients with mental health conditions to engage in therapeutic activities that promote recovery and well-being.
* Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient interactions and progress, adhering to Priory Hospital's standards and policies.
* Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including Occupational Therapists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to provide holistic patient care.

What you'll bring to the role


Our work is rewarding but can be challenging, so resilience is key. No two days are the same Your natural empathy will help you support others through both the highs and lows.

To be successful in this role, you should have demonstrable experience working in a healthcare setting, ideally with exposure to mental health or rehabilitation environments. A relevant qualification, such as an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent, is highly desirable. You should possess a strong understanding of occupational therapy principles and practices, with the ability to implement treatment plans under the guidance of a qualified Occupational Therapist.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you will be interacting with patients, their families, and a multidisciplinary team. You must be able to maintain accurate and timely documentation, adhering to the hospital's policies and procedures. A genuine passion for supporting individuals in their recovery journey, a commitment to providing high-quality care, and a flexible approach to working are also essential
