This role is hybrid and you will be required to work from either Truro or Exeter for a minimum of two days per week.
What You'll Be Doing
* Build scalable Power BI solutions using DAX, Power Query, and Microsoft Excel
* Automate workflows with Power Automate to reduce manual effort
* Collaborate with NHS and ICB partners to deliver timely, high-quality insights
* Ensure data integrity through diagnostic checks and reconciliation
* Communicate complex findings to clinical and non-technical audiences
* Support scheduled submissions and ad hoc requests with agility and professionalism
Responsibilities
* Maintain, develop, and optimise Power BI dashboards to support Integrated Urgent Care (IUC) reporting, NHS performance metrics, and local intelligence
* Build and troubleshoot Power BI semantic models, ensuring scalability, accuracy, and resilience against common report failures
* Use Power Query (M), DAX, and SQL (desirable) to create dynamic, reusable, and auditable logic across reports
* Automate data workflows using Power Automate to streamline cloud-based reporting processes and reduce manual interventions
* Respond to ad hoc data requests from internal stakeholders, NHS colleagues, and ICB partners with professionalism and speed
* Collaborate with NHS and ICB teams, supporting regular and scheduled submissions of reports and datasets
* Ensure high levels of data quality and consistency, reconciling report outputs against expected results and resolving discrepancies
* Understand NHS terminology and IUC service models, applying healthcare knowledge to design insightful and policy-relevant visualisations
* Manage and transform datasets in Microsoft Excel, integrating spreadsheet-based workflows into broader reporting systems
* Identify and resolve issues that lead to report failures, including ambiguous relationships, performance bottlenecks, or data anomalies
* Document and maintain clear measures, calculations, and visuals to ensure transparency and auditability
* Communicate complex analytical insights clearly to clinical, operational, and non-technical audiences across the organisation
* Work independently and collaboratively, using initiative to deliver high-quality solutions while engaging effectively with team members
* Leverage skills within data warehousing environments to support scalable data architecture and optimise back-end data pipelines (desirable)
* Work closely with IT, Business Partners and Key Stakeholders on various projects as required by the Business
Qualifications and Skills
Essential
* Advanced Power BI skills (DAX, Power Query, semantic models)
* Strong Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, data modelling)
* Experience collaborating with stakeholders including ICB and NHS teams
* Experience responding to ad hoc data/reporting requests
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Attention to detail and ability to reconcile data with expected outputs
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Commitment to maintaining high data quality and governance standards
* Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
Desirable
* Knowledge of Power Automate for cloud automation tasks
* Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and SQL for back-end support
* Experience in Integrated Urgent Care or similar healthcare setting

* Salary: £31,049 to £37,796 per year (pro rata for part-time)
