Job Description
The postholder's duties will primarily involve the administration of Council Tax and Non-Domestic Rates accounts. Responsibilities include creating and amending data on these databases and responding to written and verbal enquiries from taxpayers and ratepayers. The postholder will mainly specialize in either Council Tax or Non-Domestic Rates but may be deployed to the other during periods of high workload.
Requirements
• Input information into the Council Tax and Non-Domestic Rates databases.
• Respond to enquiries from taxpayers and ratepayers, both verbally and in writing.
• Perform general clerical duties.
Responsibilities
* Experience working in an office environment.
* Experience in data input.
* Experience dealing with the public.
* 4 SQA Standard Grade or equivalent at Level 3 or above, including Maths and English.
* High accuracy in work.
* Effective oral and written communication skills.
* Commitment to high standards of customer care.
* Understanding and respect for confidentiality.
* Ability to meet deadlines.
* Knowledge of software packages such as Word and Excel.
* Willingness to accept direction and delegation.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a small team.
* Ability to deal with people professionally and empathetically.
* Flexibility to meet service needs.
* Ability to work in an open-plan/shared office environment.

Hours per week: 36.25
Hourly Rate: £13.26
