About The Role

We’re looking for Support Worker who embody these values and want to be part of a team that truly makes a difference. You’ll support individuals to live safely, independently, and with dignity—in their own home and community—empowering them to live the life they choose.

Shift Pattern : Full Days 7am-7pm

Waking Nights 7pm-7am

Location: Southport

Excellent Rate of pay £13.44 per hour

Role Overview:

To provide person-centred care and support to a female individual with complex physical, emotional, and/or learning needs, enabling her to live a safe, fulfilling, and independent life as far as possible. The role involves supporting with personal care, daily living tasks, community activities, and therapeutic routines in line with her care plan.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide compassionate, respectful, and high-quality support tailored to the individual’s specific needs and preferences.
* Assist with all aspects of personal care, including hygiene, dressing, toileting, and mobility, while maintaining dignity.
* Support with the administration of medication, therapies, and medical appointments as prescribed in her care plan.
* Promote choice, independence, and social inclusion by supporting the individual in accessing community resources, attending appointments, and participating in meaningful activities.
* Implement behaviour support strategies and maintain a calm, positive, and safe environment at all times.
* Carry out domestic tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and laundry, encouraging participation where possible.
* Maintain accurate records of care provided, incidents, and changes in condition or behaviour.
* Communicate effectively with family members, healthcare professionals, and other team members.
* Adhere to safeguarding, health and safety, and confidentiality policies.

Essential Requirements

* Previous experience supporting individuals with complex or additional needs (e.g., learning disabilities, autism, mental health conditions, physical disabilities).
* Understanding of person-centred care and the ability to follow detailed care plans.
* Empathetic, patient, and resilient approach to care.
* Willingness to provide personal care and support with intimate tasks.
* Strong communication and observational skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins/waking nights if needed.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable adults.

Desirable

* NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
* Training in moving and handling, medication administration, and first aid
* Knowledge of positive behaviour support (PBS)
