We are seeking a hands-on Payroll Manager to join a small, collaborative team and take ownership of multi-client payroll delivery in a fast-growing, technology-driven environment.

The role
As Payroll Bureau Manager, you will be responsible for end-to-end payroll delivery for multiple clients, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely submission.
You will work closely with the Head of Payroll and play a key role in shaping processes, implementing system improvements, and mentoring colleagues as the team grows.
Key responsibilities
• Take full ownership of multi-client payrolls from data input to reconciliation, submission, and pensions uploads
• Personally process payrolls and ensure statutory compliance
• Maintain high standards of accuracy and efficiency, proactively resolving issues
• Act as the primary point of contact for client payroll queries
• Collaborate with the Head of Payroll on implementations, process improvements, and system changes
• Contribute to payroll automation initiatives and API integrations
• Gradually assume line management responsibilities as the team grows, with full support and training provided
About you
• Strong multi-client bureau experience
• Confident running payrolls end-to-end with accountability for accuracy
• Up-to-date knowledge of UK payroll legislation and systems
• Analytical, detail-oriented, and able to solve complex payroll scenarios
• Excellent communicator with clients and colleagues
• Motivated to develop leadership and management capability
• Comfortable in a rapidly changing, high-growth environment
