Welder
Brampton on Swale
Temporary to permanent
£16.28 per hour
We are excited to be recruiting for an experienced Welder to join our steelworks client in the Brampton on Swale area. This is a temporary to permanent opportunity with an immediate start available.
What you'll be doing -
* Structural steel welding of plates and section on a production line up to 100mm thick.
* Capable of using MAG 135 process equipment to produce single, multi run fillets and butts welds in the down hand position.
* Capable of carrying out visual inspections on the finished welds in accordance with the specification
* Correct use of grinders and associated consumables whilst adhering to the HAVS regulations
* Demonstrates commitment to HSEQ.
* Ensures that all relevant safe operating procedures are adopted in line with the company requirements.
* Works to production targets to ensure company deadlines are met.
What we're looking for -
* Time served (or possess other equivalent qualifications) in MAG 135 manual welding.
* Experience of working with structural steel is essential
* Excellent understanding of welding codes and standards
* Understanding and use of overhead cranes and slinging techniques
* Strong communication and problem-solving skills as well as good knowledge of production processes and systems
Hours of work -
Monday to Friday: 6am - 2:30pm, 40 hours per week
Saturday overtime available: 7am-12:30pm, paid at time and a half
