Our client is looking to recruit an experienced finance professional for the newly created role of Company Accountant. Working closely with the board, this role will be responsible for: Key Duties: Take full ownership of the finance function, ensuring accurate bookkeeping, maintenance of the general ledger, and timely month-end and year-end close processes Prepare and present monthly management accounts to the directors, including profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow forecasts, and variance analysis against budget, with clear commentary on margins, overhead absorption, and cost drivers. Oversee all statutory and tax compliance obligations, including corporation tax computations, VAT returns, and liaison with external payroll provider and tax advisers when required. Manage working capital effectively, including credit control, supplier payments, inventory valuation and monitoring of stock movements in coordination with production and procurement teams. Develop and maintain robust internal controls proportionate to a non-audit entity, safeguarding assets, improving financial processes, and ensuring segregation of duties where feasible within a lean finance structure. Support strategic decision-making by providing financial modelling, product costing analysis, break-even assessments, and capital expenditure appraisals, reporting directly to the directors and acting as a key financial business partner to the leadership team. This role is suited to an accountant who has worked in a similar role. Xero experience is essential, whilst having experience working in a fast-paced/manufacturing background is highly beneficial.
