Are you passionate about supporting children with complex educational needs?
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and dynamic school in Exeter. This is a long-term role where you will play an essential part in helping children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Work alongside the classroom teacher to provide tailored support for students with SEMH and complex educational needs.
* Assist in delivering individualised and group interventions to support students' social, emotional, and academic development.
* Support students in managing behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment.
* Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom culture.
* Liaise with other staff and parents to ensure the best outcomes for the students.
Key Requirements:
* A minimum of 6 months experience working in a UK school setting.
* Proven experience working with children with complex educational needs, specifically SEMH.
* Ability to engage, motivate, and support students with challenging behaviours.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* A DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check is mandatory.
* Eligibility to work in the UK (no sponsorship provided).
