Job Description This role can be based out of any of our UK offices, we are hybrid remote which would require travel to Edinburgh once a month for meetings/collaboration. In a nutshell To develop and deliver the insurance strategy for the relevant product(s), orchestrating input of key stakeholders (finance, pricing, operations management, marketing, and Insurer relationship teams) to plan and deliver the growth and profitability objectives. The Product Manager is responsible for the product management lifecycle, co-ordinating the input of colleagues from across the business (e.g. research, risk & compliance, legal, Insurer relationship team), ensuring the product meets Sainsbury’s Customer’s needs, leveraging the brand values and collaborating with marketing to develop compelling product promotional strategies. To act as the SB SME and point of reference for the product, maintaining an up to date knowledge of regulatory and market developments to ensure product compliance and ongoing enhancement and development. What you need to do · Ownership of product design, development and implementation process, co-ordinating input from key stakeholders. Stages include; market and customer research, product specifications and delivery of final policy wordings, to ensure all elements of product design and delivery meet the needs of the identified target market · Take the lead role in ensuring allocated product meets regulatory and compliance standards, maintain a strong awareness and understanding of conduct risk, specifically the delivery of good customer outcomes, and ensure internal product governance framework is in place and operating. · Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders, own and develop the financial plan for allocated product, ensuring key KPIs are tracked, reported and variances actioned to deliver growth and profitability objectives. · To act as the key contact in all day to day matters relating to the product. This will require a deep understanding of the allocated product and variances to key competitor products, as well as an indepth awareness of relevant competitive market developments. · Contribute to the creation and delivery of the insurance team development roadmap, with emphasise on the allocated product category. · Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders: - Internal stakeholders listed below will critical to the delivery of financial plans, future change and regulatory compliance. - External stakeholders include industry bodies and other industry influencers. What you need to know and show · Experience in the financial services industry · Experience in the Car & Home industry, preferably within a broker model · Well organised and able to prioritise workload in line with tight deadlines and work effectively under pressure · Highly numerate, with excellent analytical and problem solving skills and attention to detail. · Excellent team player with ability to working closely with others to deliver results · Customer focused · Proven track record of working on own initiative, with the ability to introduce fresh thinking to the role and the wider team. · Demonstrate an ability to think and reason logically · Strong relationship management skills · Excellent written communication – business and project reports · Exceptional communication skills - ability to communicate effectively with anyone in any environment, e.g. able to translate complex / technical issues to meet the audience's competency level · Living the Sainsbury’s Group values through proactively taking responsibility, owning any issues arising and following through to resolve them (within their role remit).
