Business Services Senior
Location: Carlisle or Penrith

NXT Recruitment is supporting a well-established and highly respected accountancy and business advisory firm in the North to recruit a Business Services Senior. The Role
As a Business Services Senior, you will join an experienced Business Services team supporting a varied portfolio of clients including sole traders, partnerships and limited companies. The role will involve hands‑on preparation work, supporting managers with compliance and reporting, and maintaining strong working relationships with clients. This position can be based in either Carlisle or Penrith and includes working with a specialist client portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparing draft financial statements for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies for review
* Preparing draft business tax computations
* Preparing VAT returns, bookkeeping assignments and management accounts
* Assisting with the filing of financial statements and corporate tax returns
* Liaising with Managers and Assistant Managers, raising queries where appropriate
* Supporting the team to ensure deadlines are met and service standards maintained
About You
* AAT, ICAS, ACA or ACCA qualified
* Experience working within an accountancy practice
* Experience working with agriculture-focused clients is desirable, or an interest in supporting clients within this sector
* Full UK driving licence
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced professional environment
* Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
* Able to prioritise workloads and work to strict deadlines
* A proactive team player who takes pride in delivering quality work
