Overview

We are currently recruiting a Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality Assistant / Graduate based in Swatragh, with overall responsibility for operations throughout the UK & Ireland.


About the role

As the HSEQ Assistant/Graduate within BP McKeefry, you will work proactively with directors, managers and staff to maintain and improve HSEQ programmes across the company, ensuring health, safety and environmental requirements are met and enabling the business to deliver high‑quality service to customers.


Key Responsibilities

* Maintain ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
* Assist the HSEQ Manager in preparing for external audits (ISO, SCOPA, SQAS, DGSA).
* Carry out internal audits and report findings to improve procedures.
* Develop, communicate and deliver HSEQ training (inductions, risk assessments, toolbox talks).
* Keep training matrix and records updated, communicate training needs.
* Investigate accidents and near‑misses, report findings, propose corrective actions.
* Issue PPE and maintain store stock.
* Support customer complaint management and internal non‑conformance investigations.
* Report weekly on site KPIs and maintain customer service metrics.
* Manage waste control and disposal records, support green energy projects.
* Assist in compiling reports and producing documentation.


Essential Criteria

* NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent H&S qualification.
* Experience in writing and producing reports.
* Experience in risk assessment and developing safe systems of work.
* Driver's licence.
* Competent IT skills with full working knowledge of Microsoft Office.


Desirable Criteria

* Minimum 1 year experience in a similar role.
* Experience in the transport industry.
* Experience with HACCP.
* Certified internal auditor or training.

* Strong communicator, organised, analytical and able to work to deadlines.
* Passionate about health and safety, customer service, and the environment.
* Ability to take ownership of projects and work as part of a team.
* Maintain confidentiality.

Employment Information

Required: Must be legally entitled to work in the UK. Occasional travel to sites in the UK and Ireland.
