We are working on behalf of a local authority in the West Midlands who are looking for a temporary Education Health Plan Officer to carry out some temporary interim cover whilst they are recruiting for the permanent role. The cover is to start as soon as possible and will be on a temporary timesheet basis.
The role will involve the following:
1. Managing and overseeing various cases and ensuringpliance with legislation and improving oues for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
2. Working co-productively with children, young people, and parents/carers, as well as with partners from Education, Health, and Care services
3. Coordinating person-centred, oue-focused EHC needs assessments and reviews.
4. Developing clear, concise, and accessible EHC Plans
5. Ensuring statutorypliance with national legislation and local policy
6. Providing advice and guidance to schools and settings
7. Conducting annual reviews and amend EHC Plans within statutory timescales
8. Promoting positive working relationships with parents, schools, and practitioners.
We are looking for candidates with the following essential skills and experience:
9. Degree level qualification or equivalent in a relevant field
10. Experience of SEN casework and SEND statutory processes and procedures
11. Excellent casework skills, including analytical assessments and developing SMART plans.
12. Practical understanding of relevant legislation and guidance (Children & Families Act 2014, SEND Code of Practice: 0 to 25 years)
13. Ability to work effectively on your own and as part of a team
14. Experience of facilitating multi-agency meetings
15. Strongmunication and interpersonal skills
16. Ability to use management information systems and IT skills for accurate case recordings.
