Role: Psychiatrist at East Kootenay Regional Hospital (EKRH) in Cranbrook, BC. Join a dynamic mental health team delivering services from inpatient and outpatient settings to community-driven initiatives and Indigenous collaborations, with a focus on adult psychiatry and holistic care for adults.
Responsibilities
* Provide comprehensive psychiatric care for adults in the 12-bed inpatient unit and outpatient clinic, including consultations in medical, surgical units, and the emergency department.
* Develop and implement adult-specific treatment strategies addressing chronic mental health issues and substance use disorders.
* Collaborate with clinical teams and Indigenous partners to expand mental health access in rural East Kootenays.
* Contribute to education, continuous learning, and career development within a supportive environment.
* Drive quality improvements and implement innovative practices in adult psychiatry while promoting patient-centred care.

Location and Setting
East Kootenay Regional Hospital, an 80-bed regional referral centre serving approximately 82,000 individuals in the East Kootenay region of BC. 24/7 emergency and trauma services, ICU, and a broad range of hospital services are available.
Compensation and Benefits
* Estimated total remuneration: $400,000–$600,000, through fee-for-service billings, sessional contracts, and MOCAP level 2.
* Vacation leave and flexible scheduling.
* RSA-related incentives: Retention Premium, Retention Flat Fee, Relocation Funding, Recruitment Incentive, and RCME/ CME funds. Specific rates are subject to change and confirmed at offer.
