We at John Hunter & Kobler clinic are looking for a Band 4 Assistant Practitioner.
The role also encompasses clinical duties in JHC and Kobler OPD including direct patient care under supervision.
This involves assisting the Multi professional team in the delivery of a high standard of care to patients attending for Sexual, reproductive and HIV health care including asymptomatic history taking, routine PrEP management that includes the dispensing of medication under role specific Trust directions and Hepatitis A/B and HPV vaccinations.
The role also encompasses prepping routine blood clinics in Kobler OPD and routine results management and enquiries via the joint clinic E mail. To undertake routine patient observations / DEXA ankle scans and work alongside specialist HIV Nurses in preparation for clinical activity.
Other aspects include housekeeping and administration duties including ordering stock and overseeing the maintenance of a safe environment for both patients and staff.
As a senior member of the Health Care Assistant team you will have a role in the mentoring and leadership of more junior members of the team. Offering support and training to new and substantive members of staff.
Ensuring delivery and ordering of stock is up to date and tasks are delegated during your absence.

We are looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic experienced individual to join our team in John Hunter Clinic for Sexual Health and Kobler HIV outpatients’ clinic.To assist the RN/Health Advisers/Doctors in their main daily responsibilities.To work flexibly within John Hunter Clinic and Kobler HIV OPDTo assist in the recall of patients in Kobler OPD for follow up investigationsThe role will involve direct patient care, clerical, reception and administration duties and overseeing of the maintenance of a safe environment for both clients and staffThe post holder works under the supervision of the Nursing team.To supervise the ordering and stock levels in both clinics.To provide training and leadership to the Health Care Assistants and participate in the mentorship of the Health Care Assistants.To work within boundaries of existing competence and develop skills at all times.The post holder is expected to maintain high standards of care, managing their time, tasks and resources effectively.To ensure that the environment of the clinic is clean, tidy, safe and welcoming to patients.The post holder will be expected to work flexibly including weekends if the service requires it.You should be motivated, enthusiastic and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills along with the ability to work with a diverse range of clients in an innovative sexual health and HIV setting.You must have a ‘can do ‘attitude and be passionate about providing a high standard of patient care and you will be part of a team of nurses responsible for delivering a high standard of patient care at all times.Your job will also involve ensuring the clinics are kept clean, tidy and stocked at all times and providing day to day support to the Medical and Nursing team.
