We're looking for a motivated Construction Operative to join our Civils Construction team! This is a hands-on role where you'll play a key part in building and maintaining essential water and sewerage infrastructure across various site locations within the Wessex Water region.
What you'll do
As a Construction Operative, you'll play a key role in delivering civils construction works across the YTL Construction UK (Infrastructure) projects.
Working as part of a skilled and supportive team, your responsibilities will include:
* carrying out excavations and general groundworks
* installing and repairing pipes of various sizes and materials
* performing concreting works to support infrastructure development
* operating a range of plant and equipment safely and efficiently
* driving company vehicles to and from site locations
* maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment
* being mindful of neighbouring properties and public spaces to minimise disruption
* supporting a culture of teamwork, safety and respect on every job.
What you'll need
We're looking for someone who works well in a team, takes direction confidently, and brings a positive, can-do attitude to every task.
You'll be working outdoors in all weather conditions and supporting a variety of construction activities, with training provided.
Reliability, punctuality and respect for others are essential, along with a basic understanding of health and safety and a commitment to our ‘Make it Right' ethos.
Ideally, you'll also have:
* CSCS (Labour Green)
* Abrasive wheels
* Cat 4+ & Genny
* Manual Handling
* Working at Height
* Asbestos Awareness
* Face Fit.
Previous experience in construction and knowledge of site protocols are desirable, but not essential.
