Transactional Construction Projects Lawyer
Join to apply for the Transactional Construction Projects Lawyer role at Pinsent Masons.
Job Overview
Our Construction and Engineering Group is expanding and seeks a transactional (non‑contentious) construction lawyer to join our team. Ideal candidates will have experience in the energy sector (though not essential), 4–8 years’ PQE, and a strong background in construction and projects work. The role focuses on renewable energy projects across the UK and internationally, with a preference for the Scottish team. You will work with senior partners and a national team across UK offices.
Why Work With Us?
* Largest specialist construction team in any law firm worldwide, with over 350 energy and infrastructure specialists globally.
* Construction Law firm of the Year (Who's Who Legal) for the last fifteen years.
* Tier 1 in the Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners listings for Scotland in Construction, Energy (excl. oil & gas), and Projects.
* Recognised by Legal500, Chambers, FT, Thomson‑Reuters, Legal Business, Stonewall, and other awarding bodies.
* Inclusive employer – Top Global Employer, Top Ten Employer for Working Families, Disability Confident Employer, and strong LGBTQ+ inclusion.
Client Feedback
"The Pinsent Masons team does very good work for us. They provide appropriate and reliable senior and junior resource to achieve this and support us proactively commercially." (hub South West Scotland)
"They have been involved in this project since the very start, from the early stages of procurement up to Financial Close, and have worked hand in glove with us throughout. They brought with them a variety of experiences and lessons learned on other projects which they shared, and applied to the work they did for us. They have drawn on this experience to suggest solutions to issues we faced; this was very useful." (Triton Knoll Offshore Wind Farm Limited)
"They do not just give us legal solutions, they also give actual commercial and pragmatic approaches to problems. Some law firms just want to give the legal points and do not really understand the commercial needs of the clients. That is something which I have not experienced with Pinsent Masons, as they have always been very cognisant of our commercial needs, and they really try to work with that in terms of the legal options available." (GrainCorp Limited)
Candidate Profile

* Be a team player, forging strong working relationships in an agile environment.
* Be enthusiastic, engaged, and keen to develop their career and contribute to a fantastic team.
* Be technically strong with good commercial judgment.
* Persevere in a client‑facing role with strong interpersonal skills.
Role Scope
* Involved in the best national and international construction work.
* Develop ongoing relationships with an existing client base and pitch for new opportunities.
* Build close working relationships as part of an international team.
What We Offer
