Lead Neonatal Educator

North Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust runs two neonatal units located at Scunthorpe General Hospital and Diana Princess of Wales Hospital, Grimsby. Both are Local Level 2 units providing Intensive Care, High Dependency Special Care and Transitional Care cots. The units care for babies over 26+6 weeks gestation and stabilize any baby under that gestation for transfer to a tertiary hospital/NICU.


About the Role

We are looking for an experienced neonatal nurse to develop neonatal education within NLAG and in partnership with the Neonatal Education lead at Hull Teaching Hospitals.


Responsibilities

* Plan, coordinate, deliver and evaluate neonatal education and training across NLAG.
* Work collaboratively with senior nursing and medical leaders, practice development teams and educators from HUTH to align education provision with national standards, regional network priorities and local service needs.
* Support clinical and non‑clinical staff in incident learning, fostering a culture of openness, reflection and continuous improvement.
* Monitor and evaluate the implementation of actions to embed lessons learned into clinical practice and systems.
* Provide advice and training on processes that support safe, high‑quality neonatal care in line with national and local standards.


Qualifications

* Registered RN adult/child with neonatal speciality.
* Experience of education, including evaluation of local practice against national and local standards within the NHS.
* Teaching qualification.
* NLS provider.
* 1st level degree or equivalent in nursing or a health‑related subject, or working towards it.
* NLS instructor.


Knowledge and Skills

* Knowledge of neonatal education standards and senior‑level training frameworks.
* In‑depth knowledge of neonatal education standards, competency frameworks and workforce development.
* Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
* Experience working across a neonatal network, including ODN.
* Evidence of change management.
