Dementia Day Centres provide a safe, stimulating and supportive environment for people living with mild to moderate dementia, offering tailored activities, social interaction and specialist care that enhance quality of life and wellbeing. Our centres also provide vital respite and reassurance for families and carers, knowing their relatives are engaged, supported and valued within a warm and inclusive community.
The Programme Assistant is responsible for front line delivery of day services to service users, including running and supporting with activities such as chair based-exercise classes, discussion groups, card games and board games. Supporting the individual living with dementia in a person-centered, dignified way, enhancing their quality of life and helping them to maintain their independence.

Responsibilities
* Supporting and enabling people living with dementia to engage in meaningful activities and help them to maintain their independence.
* Work collaboratively with members and their families to develop, maintain, and update personalised care plans, risk assessments, and Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (PEEPs)
* Delivering and preparing the day centre activities for older people, people living with dementia.
* Help to create and deliver new and exciting activities to build within the programme.
* Support volunteers to take part and contribute in the running of the Centre and in the delivery of activities, in collaboration with the Senior Programme Assistant, Centre Coordinator and the Volunteering Department.
* In collaboration with the Centre Coordinator and Operations Administrator, regularly identify and review risks, hazards and health and safety concerns with relevant colleagues.
* Support daily operational set up and set down of Centre furniture and equipment
* Support the Centre Coordinator with all member welfare related data entry into Jewish Care's membership database, Dynamics.
* Keep up to date with deadlines and support the Centre Coordinator, Senior Programme Assistant and colleagues to ensure KPI's are met.
* In collaboration with Customer Experience department, regularly review the quality of services and ensure that feedback contributes to the overall running of the Centre.
* To be aware of current safeguarding guidance and to raise and report safeguarding concerns with the appropriate colleagues, to enhance the quality of life of older people.
* Carry out actions, such as personal care duties, as indicated in a person's care plan or associated documents. Take part in care plan meetings with colleagues, internal Social Work colleagues, relatives, and external agencies.
* Where appropriate, supporting members to coordinate and organise their transport arrangements to and from the centre to include assisting with booking and managing dial-a-ride, other community transport private hire and public transport.
