Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Financial Accountant to join our dynamic team across 52 weeks of the year. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting regulations, and providing insightful financial analysis to support decision-making. This role requires proficiency in accounting software and a strong understanding of financial management principles.
Duties
* Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with regulatory requirements.
* Manage accounts payable processes, ensuring timely payments and accurate record-keeping.
* Utilise accounting software Sage for efficient financial management.
* Conduct regular reconciliations of bank statements and balance sheets to ensure accuracy.
* Provide mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative work environment.
* Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, analysing variances to inform strategic planning.
* Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial practices align with organisational goals.
* Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and best practices within the industry.
* Manage the year end closure process
* Oversee the quarterly VAT returns
Skills
* Proficient in accounting software including Sage.
* Strong understanding of financial services and financial management principles.
* Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate financial reporting.
* Ability to mentor and develop junior staff members effectively.
* Knowledge of accounts payable processes and financial accounting standards.
* Strong communication skills to convey complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.

* Experience in management accountancy
Qualifications
* Minimum qualification of CIMA or above
* AAT L5
