Overview
Rydon Maintenance are seeking a skilled Fire Door Carpenter to join our repairs and maintenance team. The role will involve carrying out fire door inspections, repairs and replacement installations in hospitals, ambulance stations, care homes and other commercial buildings in the South East. A company van and fuel card will be provided for travel, and a UK driving licence is required.
Responsibilities
* Inspection of fire doors to assess whether repairs or replacements are required.
* Fire door maintenance and remedial works.
* Installation of new fire doors and frames.
* Be familiar with and understand current fire regulations to ensure doors are fully compliant.
* Conduct inspections to ensure fire doors are compliant with fire safety regulations.
* Adjusting door frames, ironmongery, and seals for a proper fit and function.
* Identifying and rectifying any fire door defects.
* Ensuring all work meets industry regulations and safety standards.
Qualifications and experience
* NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry and Joinery.
* Previous experience with the maintenance, repair and replacement/installation of fire doors.
* The role suits someone with experience working in healthcare environments (e.g., hospitals, care homes); candidates with relevant experience from other sectors will also be considered.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team; excellent customer service skills.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
* A valid UK manual driving licence (not EU or automatic and no more than 6 points).

Additional information
Location: Rydon Maintenance, South East (including NHS contracts). Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00 to 17:00. Travel: Company van and fuel card provided for travel. A UK manual driving licence (not EU or automatic) and no more than 6 points is required.
