We are recruiting on behalf of our client for Engineers to help build the largest Electric Arc Furnace in the world - it's not often that opportunities like this come along. You could be at the forefront of a high-profile £1 billion megaproject that will have a significant impact on the economy, the environment, and society.
This project represents a transformative step towards a green, decarbonised future and a fundamental restructure of how our client does business. Working as part of a team that is driving engineering excellence, you'll collaborate with a range of diverse stakeholders to develop and safely build Tata Steel's 3.2mt electric arc furnace.
The engineering challenges are immense and exciting. You'll be involved in cutting-edge technology and innovative solutions that will set new industry standards. From initial design through to final implementation, this project will test and expand your engineering skills.
Key Duties
Create project plans and proposals that support and improve the business.
Oversee all stages of assigned projects, from concept through execution to final acceptance.
Ensure all work meets relevant design, safety, and environmental standards.
Draft technical specifications and requests for quotations from OEMs and contractor partners.
Oversee project engineering activities to ensure timely, safe, and budget-compliant completion.
Solve problems and liaise with internal and external stakeholders to drive project success.
Requirements
Strong background within the heavy industry sector.
Degree in Engineering and Chartered Engineer status desirable but not essential.
Solid understanding of project management techniques, risk assessment, and safety study methods (training provided if needed).
Excellent communication skills to represent the business externally.
High level of engineering competency in electrical disciplines.
Excellent time management, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
