Hull City Council is recruiting experienced and committed Children's Social Workers to join their Children's Services teams in Hull on a locum basis.
This role is suited to confident practitioners with experience of complex statutory work, including court proceedings and high-risk safeguarding cases. You'll be part of a supportive service that values strong professional judgement, collaboration, and high-quality social work practice.
The Role
As a Children's Social Worker, you will:
* Manage a complex caseload, including Child Protection (CP) and Child in Need (CIN) cases
* Undertake court work, including care proceedings and legal planning
* Work with adoption pathways and permanency planning where required
* Complete private law reports, including Section 7 and Section 37 assessments
* Apply and evidence strong Signs of Safety (SOS) practice
* Carry out robust safeguarding interventions to protect children from harm
* Produce high-quality assessments, care plans, and court reports
* Work closely with families, legal services, health professionals, and partner agencies
* Support the wider team, including co-working cases and mentoring ASYE social workers and students
