Job Description
Make your mark as Financial Accountant for Boskalis Subsea Services in Aberdeen. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional to play a key role in supporting our Financial Controller with external reporting for BSS. This includes coordinating the collection, analysis, and consolidation of financial data, ensuring accuracy and compliance for both statutory reporting and external audits.
You will take ownership of accounting, analysis, and reporting of overheads (excluding personnel costs), working closely with budget holders to manage reforecasting and budgeting processes. Collaboration is at the heart of this role – you will work hand-in-hand with the Internal Reporting Controller, providing support and stepping in to backfill responsibilities when required, ensuring seamless financial operations.
Your responsibilities as Financial Accountant.:
The main responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
Statutory Reporting
13. Day to day management of audit, being first point of contact for queries
14. Preparation of statutory accounts, including data gathering for tax analysis
Overheads
15. Overhead accountant for all overhead related costs excluding personnel
16. Liaise with budget holders for reporting, reforecasting and budgeting
17. BCR analysis and provision of narrative to include in reporting packs
Internal reporting
18. Assist with month balance sheet integrity checks and review.
19. Support to Internal Reporting Controller
Other
20. Assist Financial Controller with technical accounting questions
21. Assist tax assistant with monthly VAT submissions
22. Assist Financial Controller with review of processes and controls
Qualifications
Your Qualities and Qualifications
You can make your mark as Financial Accountant if you have:
23. Experience in a similar role (high level of accuracy) working in an energy sector environment.
24. Educated to University level (Accounting and/or Finance).
25. Industry professional Qualification (or working towards).
26. Strong financial data handling skills (Excel)
27. Ability to work using own initiative and to work as part of a multi-disciplined team
28. Effective written/verbal communication and organizational skills.
