GSL Education are seeking a Behaviour Mentor to join schools in Castleford, supporting students who face social, emotional, or behavioural challenges. This role is perfect for someone with a background in youth work, behaviour support, or SEMH environments, who is driven to support students in overcoming challenges to their learning. As a Behaviour Mentor, your responsibilities will include: Offering one-to-one and small group support to pupils exhibiting challenging behaviours. Building positive, trusting relationships with students to enhance engagement. Assisting with pupils’ emotional regulation and behaviour management strategies. Collaborating closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff. Encouraging a calm, respectful, and nurturing classroom atmosphere. Supporting the monitoring of progress and contributing to intervention planning. Skills & Requirements for Behaviour Mentor: Previous experience supporting children or young people with behavioural needs. Solid knowledge of effective behaviour management techniques. Outstanding skills in communication, de-escalation, and building positive relationships. A composed, consistent, and proactive attitude when facing challenges.
