Senior Land Agent / Land Agency Team Lead

We are partnering with a long‑established rural property consultancy with over three decades of experience delivering land and estate management, valuations, rural sales, tenancies advice and wider professional services across Cumbria, Dumfries & Galloway and the Scottish Borders. Their team supports landowners, farmers and rural businesses with expertise spanning land management, compulsory purchase, diversification, subsidies, forestry and property sales.
Due to continued growth, the firm is now seeking an experienced Senior Land Agent to take a leading role within their Land Agency department. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven rural professional who enjoys variety, autonomy and client engagement, with the chance to help shape the strategic direction of a thriving consultancy
The Role
As the new Land Agency Team Lead, you will:
1. Deliver high‑level professional advice across land management, compensation, landlord & tenant matters, renewables, grants and agricultural support schemes
2. Provide valuations covering a broad range of rural, residential and commercial property types.
3. Lead and develop the Land Agency team, supporting junior agents and graduates through APC/CAAV progression and ongoing technical development
4. Drive business development-engaging with existing clients, building new relationships, and representing the firm at auction mart events, agricultural shows and community engagements
5. Oversee and support rural sales processes, including farms, land and smallholdings
6. Contribute to strategic planning and growth across professional service lines.
About You
You will ideally bring:
7. RICS qualification (CAAV an advantage).
8. At least 3 years' experience in rural surveying or land agency.
9. Strong technical capability across agricultural advice, property matters and rural business issues.
10. Excellent client‑facing skills, with the ability to communicate, negotiate and problem‑solve.
11. A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for leading, coaching and supporting colleagues.
12. Genuine passion for land management, rural communities and sustainable practice.
