Career Progression Trainee ACPs will be appointed at Band 8a (Annex 21), with review and full Band 8a upgrade upon MSc and competency completion.
If applying as a trainee ACP your salary will be:
1st year 65% of top of band 8a - £40743.30
2nd year 70% of top of band 8a - £43877.40
3rd year 75% of top of band 8a - £47011.5

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The post holder will exercise advanced clinical expertise, levels of judgement, discretion and decision making in clinical care, demonstrated through a portfolio of evidence and clinical competence relevant to the role and supported with an appropriate MSc programme. The role will be required to undertake procedures autonomously, run clinics, prescribing chemotherapy, reviewing patients presenting unwell and function at an advanced level within the oncology MDTs at Trust, ICS and L & SCCA levels. The role supports the Hospital Trust in achieving Cancer Waiting Times.
You will monitor and lead improvements to standards of care and the adherence to oncology guidelines through, supervision of practice, clinical audit, and evidence-based practice, teaching and supporting professional colleagues and the provision of skilled professional leadership.
You will lead the implementation of relevant research into practice contributing to the further development of the evidence base through research and audit. You will contribute to clinical governance within the service by leading audit and research as part of the MDT within the area of expertise.

Qualifications and Education
Essential criteria
6. Current professional Body registration ie NMC / HCPC.
7. Professional clinical qualification or Working towards a specialist qualification.
8. Evidence of continuing professional development education at degree level, ideally evidence of masters level study
9. Non-medical Prescribing Qualification where professionally able to or commitment to complete when in post
10. BSc in appropriate clinical field or commitment to complete when in post
11. Masters level study in advanced clinical practice or working towards this and commitment to complete when in post
Desirable criteria
12. Teaching Qualification (7307/Certificate in Education/equivalent) or willing to undertake.
13. Advanced Life Support Qualification
14. Leadership/Management qualification or willingness to undertake.
15. Accredited education and competency in oncological malignancies
Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria
16. Highly motivated and experienced practitioner with substantive range of experience within a relevant clinical setting. Broad & advanced knowledge of clinical pathophysiology
17. Sound level of knowledge in relation to relevant invasive and non-invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
18. Has the knowledge and competence to support safe clinical decision making by interpreting multiple sources of complex information
19. Broad and advanced knowledge and experience in Urology conditions and management
20. Knowledge of local and national guidelines and agendas relevant to role
21. Proven leadership experience including delivering to targets and service improvement.
22. Ability to work autonomously
23. Ability to manage conflicting pressures to maintain streamline service delivery
24. Leadership of teams or change initiatives
25. Demonstrates current knowledge of professional and NHS issues and the implication for clinical environment.
26. Enthusiasm and drive to improve practice through education and training
27. Excellent presentation skills.

Desirable criteria
29. Experience in managing chronic health issues
30. Knowledge of more than one area of clinical practice – i.e surgery, medicine, orthopaedics, ITU
