Job Description
As a Senior Risk Consultant you will implement and advise on Risk Management solutions for AECOM’s major infrastructure projects across the UK and beyond. You will work within the Integrated Programme Controls team, engaging senior stakeholders and clients to develop a clear understanding of risk exposure, establish governance, and support effective decision‑making.
Here’s what you’ll do
* Engage with project teams to ensure the effective implementation of risk management.
* Provide risk management input to bids and proposals to secure new business.
* Perform risk assurance checks to maintain the quality of project and programme risk management.
* Communicate key risk data to senior leaders.
* Produce comprehensive risk reports for informed decision‑making.
* Coach and mentor staff in risk‑management best practice.
* Facilitate identification, assessment, and prioritisation of risks.
* Develop robust Risk Registers, Risk Management Plans, and Risk Mitigation Plans.
* Conduct Quantitative Risk Analysis (QCRA & QSRA), utilising techniques such as Monte‑Carlo to establish project contingency levels.
* Design and implement risk‑management frameworks for projects and programmes.
* Support cost, scheduling, project controls and change‑management teams where appropriate.
Qualifications
* 3+ years experience in risk management, with at least 2 years on high‑value projects.
* Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised university or a risk‑management qualification (e.g., MOR, APM Risk, IRM).
* Proven experience in a multi‑discipline project environment.
* Proficient with Industry Risk Management tools (ARM, Xactium, RiskHive, Predict, etc.).
* Experience conducting QCRA & QSRA using tools such as Safran, Primavera Risk Analyzer, @risk, etc.
* Competency in implementing ISO 31000 or equivalent risk‑management frameworks.
* Flexibility to travel and work across different sectors.
* Good people‑management and facilitation skills.
* Knowledge of engineering and construction management.
* Working knowledge of current project‑management methodologies and tools.
