Senior Care Assistant (Darlington | Full Time Nights | £13.90/hr)
Location: Willow Green Care Home, Eastbourne Road
St Martins Care are recruiting for a Senior Care Assistant to work at their busy Residential Care Home. You should be an experienced care professional with an understanding of medication management and CQC compliance, and you should be passionate about providing high quality care for older people. You will be part of a team and will need to communicate effectively.
Role location flexibility: The service premises, but you may be required to work from other locations at the discretion of the company and with appropriate notice.
Responsibilities
* Ensure residents are at the heart of care delivery, and their wishes and preferences enhance their wellbeing.
* Supervise staff and ensure all staff contribute to the efficient running of the service.
* Be responsible for promoting and protecting the welfare of those supported by the service.
* Develop effective working relationships with colleagues within the service.
* Work in cooperation with multidisciplinary teams to maximise opportunities for residents.
* Maintain and develop relationships with residents’ loved ones.
* Seek opportunities for personal and professional growth.
* Act as a role model for others and an ambassador for the service.
* Be professional, polite, and reasonable at all times.
Essential Criteria and Qualifications
* Vocational qualification Level 3 Health and Social Care.
* Level 3 Medication Management.
* Good English (written and verbal).
Skills
* Maintain care plans/care records in line with the service’s policy and audit records to ensure compliance.
* Communication skills to build rapport with residents and to inform colleagues, management, and professionals about their needs.
* Problem-solving skills to address situations quickly and develop solutions; recognise and report safeguarding concerns.
* Ability to assist residents with daily tasks following their care plan (e.g., bathing, eating, dressing, grooming, and using the bathroom).
* Supervise staff providing residents with support as they accomplish daily tasks.
* Dispense medication following the service’s policies and procedures.
Experience
* Previous experience of working in a similar care environment.
