Grade 4 – FTE - £25,583-£25,989. Actual salary: £22,104

This post is to lead our Caterpillar room (2-year old’s) in our Early Years provision within the highly successful and vibrant governor run childcare provision of Voyage @ Flash Ley. The provision has upwards of 100 children accessing before school, full day care, nursery education funded and afterschool provision on a daily basis.
The successful applicant will be expected to organise and plan the day to day operational running within the Caterpillar room. To lead planning, implementation and assessment of the children within their care and be a critical link between our childcare and school provision. They will also be expected to lead and work closely with the small team of play workers and work with the school management on improvement and driving innovation. Values are central at all times and all staff are expected to have dedication to not only the childcare provision but our wider community.
The position is term time, however, due to the provision being open 48 weeks of the year, some holiday cover will be expected for additional paid hours within school holidays.
* To lead and manage the Caterpillar room
* To support in the day to day running of the provision
* To deliver quality sessions and observe team members when required
* To lead by example and promote an outstanding provision to meet the needs of all children
* It is essential that candidates have NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in childcare;
* Post qualified experience in a group of 0-11 years
* Extensive training in safeguarding, first aid, planning and observation;
* A thorough understanding of EYFS;
* Knowledge of OFSTED standards;
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work to targets and deadlines;
* Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation;
