We are looking someone to join the Library and Student Enquiries Team at the David Wilson Library, working directly with our diverse student and user body. Library and Student Enquiries Advisors are non-traditional library roles providing a central front-line enquiry and support service for students, and deliver a front-line library services for staff and external library users including Alumni, staff and students at other institutions, members of the public and college students. The role is varied and encompasses many aspects including: Support key student life-cycle events such as registration and graduation, offer holder and open days Answering and resolving a wide variety of enquiries including student support enquires, membership enquiries and locating books and journals, databases. Provide a wide range of services including producing student letters, awarding documentation and ID cards. Carrying out Visa and ID checks, and processing Share Codes Support the management of the building, study and research environments and user behaviour. Signpost to a wide range of services across the university and beyond, such as other teams in the Library, Student Welfare and Wellbeing, the Visa Team and Fees and Incomes Apart from University closure days, and bank holidays you are expected to work all year round The service operates extended hours over seven days and we have the following post available (17.5 hours per week): Post available with work hours below Thursday: 1530-1900 Friday: 1100-1900 Saturday: 0900-1700 About you You will be passionate about delivering excellence customer service to diverse and inclusive community of students, staff and external library users. You will be proactive, remain calm under pressure and enjoy the challenges of thinking on your feet, working in a busy fast-paced, customer-facing role. You will be have an interest in service delivery and improvement, learning new skills and working as part of a professional, welcoming and responsive customer-focused team.
