Building a sustainable tomorrow BAM UK & Ireland is looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Plant Coordinator to join our growing team. Our projects are primarily within the energy infrastructure sector, including the construction of new substations and HVDC converter stations that are critical to supporting Scotlands transition to Net Zero.
The Plant Coordinator supports site teamsboth remotely and on-sitewith the inspection, coordination, and maintenance of work equipment. The role ensures projects comply with BAM UK & Ireland Procedure NP1.4 and that work equipment is sourced, delivered, operated, and maintained safely and efficiently.
Making Possible Identify suitable work equipment and confirm required CPCS categories or competence requirements with CITB.
Assist with the procurement, coordination, and delivery of work equipment, supporting Site Supervisors in verifying operator competence.
Assist Site Supervisors with equipment condition checks upon delivery.
Ensure PDIs and manufacturer manuals are obtained and distributed.
Complete MC04 checklists based on manufacturer instructions.
Work closely with operational teams to prioritise repairs and maintenance activities.
Organise familiarisation training with suppliers and manufacturers.
Provide basic familiarisation to others on safe operation and correct maintenance of work equipment.
Populate and maintain MF45 work registers.
Support sites with weekly pre-checks (every 7 days) until equipment is off-hired.
Maintain accurate equipment records and ensure timely off-hire and collection from sites.
Maintain and update lifting equipment registers.
Input data into the HAVs monitoring programme.
Support the completion and renewal of PF901 (Forward Tipping Dumper) and PF902 (Plant used on Public Highway) permits in line with the works programme.
Request Risk Assessments from equipment suppliers for loading/unloading work equipment.
Arrange supplier/engineer visits, escorting fitters to work equipment requiring repair or servicing.
Brief Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to work equipment operators.
Use observation cards to raise concerns and improvement ideas.
Provide clear, concise data and maintain accurate daily records of work activities.
Plan daily/weekly work programmes with the site team.
Undertake other relevant duties as required.
What do you bring to the role? Essential
Valid CSCS card.
Knowledge of work equipment and equipment used in the construction industry.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Desirable
Experience supporting work equipment operations across multiple sites.
Understanding of BAM UK & Ireland NP1.4 and related work equipment procedures.
Experience coordinating suppliers and managing work equipment administration.
